Status of the Accessibility Standards for the Built Environment
The Built Environment standard, made under the AODA is being developed. It is not yet law.
Recent Amendments to the ASCS and the IAS Regulations
In December 2012, O. Reg. 413/12 amended the IAS Regulation and O. Reg. 415/12 amended the ASCS Regulation.
The amendments include prescribed requirements for obligated organizations that construct or redevelop public spaces such as trails, beach access routes and outdoor play spaces and a schedule for filing accessibility reports.
