As of Saturday 21 March 2020 all inbound flights to Malta are being suspended indefinitely as part of Malta's counter measures to contain COVID-19. A government official notice issued early on 18 March advised the ban does not apply to ferry flights, cargo flights, humanitarian flights and repatriation flights. The notice continued that in special cases the Maltese authorities may exempt individual flights from the embargo.  Meantime, flag carrier Air Malta announced it will also be suspending all commercial flights from Saturday 21 March.
