Western Downs Regional Council (Council) has now released the Draft Western Downs Planning Scheme 2013 (Draft Planning Scheme) for public comment.

The Draft Planning Scheme intends to replace six planning schemes currently in operation in the Western Downs region including: Chinchilla Shire Planning Scheme, Dalby Planning Scheme, Murilla Shire Planning Scheme, Tara Planning Scheme, Taroom Shire Planning Scheme and Wambo Shire Planning Scheme.

The Draft Planning Scheme has the potential to significantly affect current and future development rights in the Western Downs Region

Submissions in relation to any changes proposed under the Draft Planning Scheme must be made on or before Monday 23 September 2013.
