The outlook for the construction industry is difficult. Whilst residential and commercial construction activity is forecast to return to modest growth, the end of the BER stimulus will drive institutional building activity down. Demand from the mining boom will continue to underpin engineering construction activity but there is some uncertainty over the value of new mining projects due to come on stream.
