Singapore partner Thomas Granger and senior associate Tania Toh have contributed to Asian-Mena Counsel Offshore Update, reviewing venture captial in Southeast Asia in 2018. 

As the preeminent venture capital and private equity practice in the offshore legal arena, Walkers continues to see record activity levels in venture capital fund raisings and fund establishments in Southeast Asia. Fundraising in Asia during 2018 increased by 11 percent to US$81 billion with the region experiencing record deal activity with 5,066 transactions, a 42 percent increase compared to 2017 reflecting the fifth onsecutive year of increasing deals1. This is consistent with 2018 global venture capital activity reaching a new high of 14,889 deals worth a total of US$274 billion, exceeding the previous high of US$192 billion
set in 20172.
