Challenge to the UK Gambling (Licensing & Advertising) Act Fail
The Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association lost its court battle fighting the United Kingdom's Gambling (Licensing & Advertising) Act, specifically the point of consumption tax required to be paid on all online gaming activities taking place in the UK.
The British High Court ruled this week and rejected the GBGA's arguments that the EU law.
The UK had planned to initiate implementation of the Act's in October but pushed the implementation date back to November 1st due to the GBGA's challenge.
The Act calls for a 15% point of consumption tax on all bets from UK gamblers and a licensing for operators taking action from UK gamblers. Several internet gaming companies have announced they are withdrawing from the UK market as a result of the new changes.
Singapore Passes Remote Gambling Bill
The Singapore Parliament passed the Remote Gambling Ban this week which essentially outlaws internet gambling in Singapore with certain exceptions.

Pennsylvania Senate Moves to Ban Instant Internet Lottery Games
The Pennsylvania Senate debated House Bill 2110 this week and added amendments to prohibit the State Lottery from offering "Internet instant games" or Keno unless the Legislature provides the go-ahead.
