Draft Community Infrastructure Levy (Amendment) Regulations 2014 (the Regulations)

The new regulations were laid before Parliament on 20 January 2014.

The amended draft Regulations can be found here.

Nabarro prepared briefing notes on the consultation on the reforms to the Regulations in May 2013 and on the draft regulations in October 2013.

The draft Regulations are expected to become law in early March 2014 subject to the Government not changing its mind or the new regulations being called in for debate.

What's changed?

Minimal changes have been brought into the published draft following the consultation since our October briefing note.

The principal change in the revised version is additional clarity on "abatement", where Community Infrastructure Levy is paid for a development and a further planning permission is subsequently granted for the development on all or part of the land.

The principal purpose of this update is to highlight that the final regulations are now laid before Parliament and will become law shortly.
