Last week, the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission voted to ban most marijuana advertising in the state.

According to media reports, the Commission's new rules prohibit all television, radio, and outdoor advertising for marijuana.  Most online advertising will also be prohibited, though the rules apparently permit online ads to age-verified users.  Print advertising will only be permitted in publications where at least 85% of the readership is over eighteen years old.

The Baltimore Business Journal reported that the industry plans to fight the decision, which is subject to review by the Maryland General Assembly.
