The NFL has suspended Mychal Kendricks indefinitely after he pleaded guilty to insider trading earlier this season. Kendricks was originally signed by the Browns during the offseason but subsequently released after the Kendricks pled guilty to insider trading charges. Kendricks' sentencing trial is scheduled for January 24, 2019. Following the plea, Kendricks was signed to a one-year deal by the Seattle Seahawks for whom he played in three games before being suspended by the NFL following a review of his insider trading charges. His ability to play for the Seawhawks following his guilty plea seemed to be a product of the lack of precedent for punishing white collar crime in the NFL. With this suspension, which may ultimately mark the end of the NFL career of Kendricks, the NFL is taking a strong stance against white collar crime.
