The Federal Trade Commission announced that it will hold a workshop on cryptocurrency issues on June 25, 2018.  The "Decrypting Cryptocurrency Scams" workshop will be held in Chicago at DePaul University.

The FTC said that the event will "explore how scammers are exploiting public interest in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and Litecoin and to discuss ways to empower and protect consumers."

As consumer interest in cryptocurrencies has grown, so has interest from scammers, who are always looking for new ways to take advantage of consumers.
