Derek Foran spoke to the Daily Journal about Northern District of California Judge William H. Orrick III's decision that will permanently ban an anti-abortion group from releasing hundreds of hours of recordings the group covertly made at national conferences.

The judge also reasoned that because he had granted Planned Parenthood's claims that it had suffered damages when the group violated exhibitor contract and confidentiality agreements that were required to gain entry to the National Abortion Federation's meetings, the plaintiff's motion for summary judgment on its breach of contract claims should be granted.

"They had three or four years of discovery in the Planned Parenthood case, lots of depositions, and they don't get to do it again," said Derek, who represented the National Abortion Federation. "This is a big day for the National Abortion Federation and its members. This injunction is going to make folks sleep a lot better at night."
