More than a dozen junior and senior commercial real estate executives and associates for Colliers International gathered in their Tysons Corner office on Wednesday, August 9, to hear Womble Carlyle Real Estate Partner Julia Kreyskop discuss tips and tricks on the tenant side of the commercial lease.

The presentation was a part of Colliers' "Accelerate" program, in which the firm provides continual education to its budding commercial real estate brokers.

Kreyskop focused the discussion on key aspects of a tenant lease which can be addressed in the Letter of Intent stage, when the broker is crucial to a tenant and landlord's initial negotiations. These aspects, Kreyskop noted, can help the broker provide a deeper level of service to their clients by addressing potential risks at an early stage, and also limit time and legal fees spent on the lease when it reaches the attorney for further negotiation.

Colliers team members followed up with highly-complimentary words of praise for Kreyskop's presentation.

"Thank you so much for coming in and speaking with us yesterday," one associate wrote via email, "...the session yesterday was invaluable for me as a young broker. It was so informative, but also fun and engaging."

Kreyskop added, "When negotiating and writing leases for our clients, we are dedicated to ensuring the client has the most favorable terms to address their business' needs, not only for today, but for whatever may arise down the road. By partnering with our broker colleagues on these concepts, we can provide a superior level of service to our clients."
