The House of Lords will this week review the decision of the Court of Appeal on the recovery of arrears from a former tenant when there is an outstanding rent review.

Last year the Court of Appeal held that landlords had to serve notices on former tenants every payment date during a rent review to protect the right to recover arrears in the event the current tenant cannot pay the backdated rent.

More details will follow once the decision of the House of Lords is available.
