Media Statement announcing two charges against a
telecommunications company under the Personal Data (Privacy)
Ordinance ("PDPO") for failing to comply with an
individual's request to opt out of direct marketing, contrary
to section 35G(3) of the PDPO. The company pleaded guilty to both
charges and was fined HK$20,000 in total, or HK$10,000 for each
charge.
