On the 27th of April 2020, the Commissioner for Revenue has announced an extension to the deadline for payment of provisional tax due on the 30th April 2020.   To this end, provisional tax must now be settled by the 31st May 2020.

It is to be noted that owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the provisional tax submissions should not be sent by mail but must alternatively be made online.  In this respect, taxpayers should proceed to complete their submissions to the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue by logging into the online portal using their e-ID login details.

The Commissioner for Revenue provides guidance on how to register for the CfR e-services, and how to register for an e-ID account through the following link: https://cfr.gov.mt/en/eServices/Pages/How-To-Register-for-'IR-Services-on-line'-.aspx
