The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission ('CySEC') has expanded the functionality of its web portal to enable Alternative Investment Fund Managers and UCITS Management Companies to submit digitally signed letters and documents to CySEC. According to CySEC this will have a double benefit of reducing costs and improving security.

The portal does not replace the Transaction Reporting system which will continue to be used for submitting various periodical reports and returns.

In order for documents to be accepted, a valid digital certificate acceptable to CySEC is required.

CySEC now requires all communications to be submitted via the web portal or the Transaction Reporting system, and will not accept communications in any other form unless it has explicitly requested them to be in that form.
