Recent Mergers and Acquisitions in Finland

Cultor, a large company in the food trade field, acquired the U.S. company Food Science Group (FSG). FSG manufactures food admixtures and its last year turnover was approximately 290 million U.S. dollars, and net profit 29 million U.S. dollars. The acquisition price was 330 million U.S. dollars.

The acquisition is a realization of Cultor's strategy to shift the emphasis of its activity towards products with a surplus value, such as food and feed. FSG will, together with Cultor's Xyrofin and Flavouring divisions form the new Cultor Food Science Group. The new group will have a turnover of approximately 900 million U.S. dollars.
