Except in the case of Charitable Trusts, a Bermuda trust must terminate within the traditional "life in being plus 21 years". Alternatively, a settlor may choose a period of up to 100 years from the Trust's commencement. Any lesser period can be left to the Trustee's discretion (with the consent of a protector where provided for). The Trust Fund may be accumulated for the life of the Trust.
