We have previously written about the central beneficial ownership register (the "Central Register") required under the European Union (Anti-Money Laundering: Beneficial Ownership of Corporate Entities) Regulations 2019.

After a delay in its proposed launch, the Central Register and on-line filing portal for relevant legal entities such as Irish corporates is open from 29 July 2019. The deadline of 22 November 2019 for first filings remains but newly incorporated companies will have five months from incorporation to first register their beneficial ownership details.
