A deputy minister of finance of Ukraine has confirmed that foreign investors are not legally restricted from participating in the Ukrainian securities market. The only condition is payment for the securities in Ukrainian currency purchased through the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange. According to the deputy minister, the ministry does not intend to issue dollar-denominated bonds and insists on using the local currency as the only means of payment. In the pipe-line are small-denomination government bonds to be marketed to individuals.
