Mark Levinson was featured in the Voice article, "An American Law Firm Expands Israeli Clients." Full text can be found in the December 2014, issue, but a synopsis is below.
What is the origin of your interest in and support of Israel?
I've found many reasons to support the existence of the
State of Israel and its development. Israel's existence is
important. My relatives supported Israel by sending freighter loads
of cattle from Newport News to Israel in 1947-48, a source of pride
for my family.
After graduating from Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University,
I worked at a prominent law firm that represented the Development
Corporation for Israel, which offers Israel Bonds.
One section within your firm is the Israel Practice Group. How did it evolve and long has it been in existence?
When I joined Fox Rothschild, my partner, Mark Hess and I
recognized the firm's excellent position to establish a
presence in Israel to bridge Israeli and U.S. business interests.
We established the "Fox Rothschild Israel Practice
Group," currently with approximately 15 lawyers nationwide.
Ari Weisbrot, who recently joined Fox, has a number of Israel-based
clients and has helped to deepen and broaden our ability to assist
our American and Israeli clients. Audrey Noll, a business and
creditors' rights lawyer who lives in Israel, joined the
firm.
Our attorneys understand the nuances and concerns of those residing
in both the U.S. and in Israel, and this positively impacts the
ultimate success of a transaction. Many lawyers in the Fox IPG
speak Hebrew, which is very beneficial.
