It may be a Friday afternoon but the dangers of slipping into relaxed weekend mode a little prematurely are illustrated by a recent incident involving HR at Aviva.

A Friday afternoon email from Aviva Investor's HR department, meant for one departing employee, instead found its way to 1,300 staff.

The email requested the staff to hand over company property and security passes before wishing them all the very best for the future! The tension caused by the email was eased upon receipt of a second email from HR apologising for the universal email. A reminder, if one were needed, of the dangers of communicating by email!
