The Government of Rajasthan has received a proposal for the purpose of developing an Inland Shipping Port at Jalore in Rajasthan. Pursuant to the proposal this Inland Shipping Port at Jalore shall be connected to the Arabian Sea through Rajasthan and Gujarat through a channel along the Kutch Creek. The proposal was deliberated by the Government of Rajasthan together with the Inland Waterways Authority of India.
After such deliberation between the Government of Rajasthan and the Inland Waterways Authority of India, it was decided that a pre-feasibility study shall be undertaken by Government of Rajasthan covering all the technical parameters for the purpose of assessing the possibility of developing the inland port at Jalore.
The Inland Waterways Authority of India has finalized the Terms of Reference for the feasibility study for this inland port project, which Terms of Reference has already been forwarded by the Inland Waterways Authority of India to the Government of Rajasthan for necessary action.
