Malaysian bank CIMB has announced a partnership with a Singapore Accelerator called Startupbootcamp FinTech to help provide guidance to FinTech startups in Singapore. CIMB will provide business advice and funding for the Accelerator and participating startups. According to its website, Startupbootcamp FinTech is the leading accelerator focused on financial innovation, providing funding, mentorship, office space, and access to a global network of investors and VCs, for up to 10 selected FinTech startups

FinTech startups are invited to apply to participate in the Accelerator, and CIMB will hand-select other startups to participate. The latter group will participate in the Accelerator's FastTrack tour program, which provides face-to-face access to industry insiders before the accelerator begins.

Through its participation in the Accelerator, CIMB hopes to promote both competition and cooperation in the Malaysian FinTech marketplace, and to promote the region's FinTech industry on the international scene. With dozens of innovative FinTech startups already emerging from the region, Singapore is lauded as a potential FinTech global hub of the future.
