On August 1, 2008 I posted my first blog about Net Neutrality
entitled "
Proposed Net Neutrality Bill in the US Congress," and as
of today Net Neutrality is still a hotly contested federal and
state issue. ZDNet.com reported that "When the phrase
was coined, it was in the context of a debate in the US
Congress over the idea of a possible nationwide license for
broadband service providers." ZDNet.com's July 18,
2019 article entitled "Does net neutrality still matter in our post-web
world?" includes a different vision that the "public
Internet" has been replaced by "the digital
marketplace" now that we all rely on cell phones and tablets,
and poses this question:
...why are we trying to resuscitate a framework from another
era?
Great Question!
