The Federal Trade Commission ("FTC") approved final amendments to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Premerger Notification Rules ("HSR") that allow HSR filings to be submitted on DVDs. The updated rules are effective immediately.

The FTC stated that the rule amendments will (i) simplify the HSR Form instructions, (ii) make the process of submitting HSR filings "easier, more efficient and less burdensome," and (iii) eliminate the expensive printing and duplication of electronically maintained documents.

Before the update, all HSR filings sent to antitrust agencies were required to be submitted in paper form.
