Federal Agencies Issue Annual Hart-Scott-Rodino Premerger Notification Report

The Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Competition and the U.S.
Department of Justice Antitrust Division issued the 38th
"Hart-Scott-Rodino Annual Report". The Report: (i)
summarized merger enforcement activities, and (ii) highlighted the
42 merger enforcement actions taken to preserve competition in
different sectors of the economy. The Report includes statistical
tables profiling Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and investigations
during fiscal year 2015. The Report states that the enforcement
actions were taken to preserve competition in diverse and important
sectors of the economy, including consumer goods and services,
pharmaceuticals, hospitals, high tech and industrial goods, and
energy.
