David Faustman was quoted in the Law360 article "Calif. High Court Could Unleash Rest Day Lawsuits."  Full text can be found in the February 23, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.

The California Supreme Court has been asked to weigh in on a long unchallenged state law that prevents employees from working more than six days in a row.

The court's decision could have a major effect on employers in the retail and hospitality industry,  said David Faustman.

"It would obviously remove flexibility in scheduling for employers, and could lead to fewer hours for employees," Faustman noted. "It is interesting to see the federal appeals court turning to the California Supreme Court for guidance; the Ninth Circuit is apparently as confused about the state's labor laws as California employers."
