Delaware Governor Jack Markell recently nominated Andre Bouchard for Chancellor of the Court of Chancery.  This position is presently vacant as a result of the appointment of Leo E. Strine as Chief Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court.  The Delaware Senate must approve the nomination before Mr. Bouchard takes the bench.

"Andy Bouchard has demonstrated a remarkable ability to dissect complex legal issues and vigorously represent his clients," Markell said in a statement. "He is well recognized for his professionalism and ability to think quickly on his feet."

Mr. Bouchard is a widely-respected corporate litigator and has significant experience before the Delaware Court of Chancery.  Mr. Bouchard represented Walt Disney Co. in Chancery disputes, including defending investor's claims that Disney wasted $140 million in corporate assets by paying ex-President Michael Ovitz's severance package.
