Welcome to the Duane Morris Healthcare Reform Center. The purpose of this article is to provide a variety of current resources on the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act ("the Act"). This article (and subsequent ones) are organized so that the following can be found on a single site: (1) primary resources, including the Act, up-to-date regulations implementing the Act, key websites and an implementation timeline; (2) key compliance requirements under the Act by provider type; and (3) a section which continually highlights the location of federal and state money authorized by the Act. We expect to continually update this website with our attorneys' articles, speeches and new business opportunities afforded by the Act. We are also excited about the opportunity to interact with healthcare providers and decision-makers weighing in on our publications.

Healthcare Reform Compliance

Navigating the many new requirements under the Act for healthcare providers will be a challenge, especially as new regulations are promulgated over the next several years. This section will afford the user an easy way to identify changes under the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act by center of interest. The content in this section is organized by provider—Employers, Hospitals, Physicians and Nursing Homes. Changes to Medicare and Medicaid are included in the appropriate section, even if they pertain solely to changes in state programs. All tax law changes for taxable employers are included under the Employers category. It should also be noted that the Employers section applies to all providers, and it is assumed that hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and insurers will examine the Employer section as well as their own specific sections.
