The ABA International Labor and Employment Law Committee will be meeting in Dublin from 7 to 11 May 2017. The Committee, which has been meeting in Europe and various other international locations over the past 20 years, confirmed at its 2016 meeting in Hong Kong last week that Dublin has been selected as the location for its 2017 meeting. The last time the Committee met in Dublin was in May 2001. The Committee, which now has a significant membership amongst both American and European practitioners, is expecting a very large attendance given Dublin's popularity as a location among its members. Issues to be considered at the conference include the new data protection regime, protection against discrimination in Ireland and other European locations, and how EU members states have successfully used labour and employment policy to attract US foreign direct investment.
