On July 10, 2019, the government of Canada published the final version of the new
Patent Rules, which will come into force October
30, 2019. The new Rules substantially alter Canadian
patent practice, and include many changes needed to permit Canada
to ratify the Patent Law Treaty (PLT). We provide a detailed
analysis of the changes here.
