On 16 July 2015 HopgoodGanim Lawyers' Insurance and Risk Team published an alert discussing the proposed changes to Queensland's workers' compensation scheme contemplated by the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 which was introduced to Parliament the previous day (see " Significant changes to Queensland workers' compensation scheme proposed").

Following its introduction, the Bill was referred to the Parliamentary Finance and Administration Committee. The Committee has now issued an invitation for submissions addressing any aspect of the Bill from all interested parties.

The closing date for written submissions is Thursday, 6 August 2015 by 4.00pm. Guidelines for making a submission, as well as the email and postal address to which submissions should be sent, are found on the Queensland Parliament website.

The Committee will conduct a public departmental briefing on Thursday, 6 August 2015 with a public hearing scheduled for 13 August 2015 (to be confirmed).

The Parliament has agreed a motion that the Committee will deliver its report on the Bill by 4 September 2015.
