An HR professional who has worked in senior roles at Lloyds, BP, HBoS and First Group as well as running her own consultancy, has been appointed to head the HR Consulting team at accountancy and investment management group, Smith & Williamson.
Geraldine Buckland, who has 25 years' business and HR experience which spans the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, has been appointed to lead Smith & Williamson's HR Consulting team based in Bristol. She has taken over the reins from partner Rachel Stone.
"The true heart of a business lies with its people and my role centres on helping organisations to build successful, long-term relationships with colleagues and clients," said Geraldine, who ran her own HR consultancy business for 10 years before joining Smith & Williamson. "I look forward to getting to know Smith & Williamson's clients and together with my team, helping to deliver a wide range of HR services. Our support is far-reaching, from advising the boards of our largest corporate clients to providing practical, hands-on support to smaller companies which are not yet ready to take on an in-house HR resource."
Geraldine is a change management specialist who works closely with clients to formulate and implement HR strategies; she is also a professional coach.
