Laurent Thibeault, an associate in Walkers' Guernsey
Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team, has been admitted as an
Advocate by the Royal Court.
Laurent, who previously worked in the finance team of a Magic
Circle firm's Paris and London offices before moving offshore,
was admitted by the Royal Court on Monday morning.
He joins partners Alison Ozanne and Sarah Brehaut (the Batonnier of
the Guernsey Bar) as Advocates in the busy Insolvency & Dispute
Resolution team, which will also announce the arrival of a lateral
partner hire from another Guernsey firm next month.
Laurent is a specialist in trusts disputes and contentious
insolvency matters.
Alison, the head of Walkers' Guernsey IDR team, said:
"Admission to the Guernsey Bar is a major accomplishment that
demands commitment, dedication, a lot of hard work and skill, and
we are all delighted by Laurent's achievement.
"This is the culmination of nearly twenty years of working
together on and off from Laurent being a summer student to
paralegal and now Advocate.
"It has been my pleasure to see Laurent grow into the
accomplished litigator he is today."
Walkers' Guernsey office has grown significantly over the last
two years as part of a strategic growth initiative across the
Channel Islands - the number of lawyers in the Guernsey office has
grown by 50% in the last 12 month alone.
