MILWAUKEE – Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) Shareholder John Murphy, a member of the firm's Real Estate Practice, has been inducted as President of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA). This prestigious honor recognizes Murphy's exceptional contributions to the field of mortgage law and his unwavering dedication to the ACMA.
ACMA, the foremost association of legal professionals specializing in real estate finance, serves as a vehicle for the development of professional networks and relationships in the field. He was formally inducted at a ceremony held at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago on Friday, September 20, as a part of the organization's 50th anniversary annual meeting. This marks the culmination of more than a decade-long involvement with the ACMA, during which Murphy has served in various leadership roles, including State Chair, Chair of the State and Provincial Chairs, Secretary and Treasurer.
Murphy has extensive transactional experience in acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, real estate finance and sale/leasebacks. His work includes negotiating and drafting complex documentation, supervising due diligence and working through easement and property tax issues in real estate transactions. His clients include lenders, borrowers, developers, buyers, sellers, tenants, landlords and joint ventures. Murphy earned his J.D, cum laude, from the University of Chicago Law School, his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his B.A. from the University of Illinois.
