Gurneet Singh was recognized as one of six 2024 Rising Stars in North America by the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of North America. The Rising Star Award is given to those who "(exemplify) a broad range of high achievement in their practice area, innovation, leadership, legal and community service and commitment to diversity and inclusion."

A patent lawyer in Jones Day's Intellectual Property Practice based in the Silicon Valley Office, Mr. Singh has more than 10 years of experience in IP matters involving complex technological areas for many well-known companies. He focuses his practice on patent litigation in federal courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Mr. Singh's recent highlights include litigating and resolving high-stakes competitor disputes, including a multijurisdictional conflict for NXP against Impinj involving over 50 patents, a widely-publicized ITC case for NXP against MediaTek, and a patent litigation defense of Cohesity against Commvault. He has also provided pro-bono counsel to more than 30 asylum seekers, who feared persecution in their home countries, at detention centers in Texas along the U.S.-Mexico border.

He supports the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County's mission of helping low-income clients with civil legal issues by serving on a committee that organizes one of their largest fundraisers. Mr. Singh serves on the Board of SABA Northern California, which recently presented him with its Corporate Responsibility Award.
