Parliament approved an amendment to the Act on Excise Duties for hydrocarbons and lubricants with the aim to increase taxes. It is expected that the price of petrol should increase from 0,50 to 0,80 crowns per litre with effect from 1 August 1997 (see June edition of Slovak Taxnews).
