The Libya Office of Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) in Tripoli received a verbal notice from the Libyan Patent Office advising that they are currently preparing letters of acceptance for our clients' pending patent applications. Such letters of acceptance would be delivered to the AGIP office by way of confirmation of the grant of the relative examined patent applications.

The Libyan Patent Office also advised that they would start collecting publication fees and accepting annuities on granted patents. This development will put an end to the former practice of accepting annuities on pending patent applications prior to their grant. This should be taken as a clear indication of the revival of the patent registration activity in Libya.
