On 30 September 2009, the President of the Office of Electronic Communications announced that new frequencies would be reserved for digital TV broadcasts on multiplex 1 and that analogue TV would be switched off on 31 July 2013.

The decision amends previous reservations of TV broadcasting frequencies. It affects Telewizja Polska SA and four private TV stations (Telewizja Polsat SA, TVN SA, Polskie Media SA and Telewizja Puls Sp. z o.o), who will all jointly use the multiplex 1 frequencies until 31 July 2013.

Thereafter, TV broadcasts from Telewizja Polska will use its own multiplex (MUX 3), while the four private TV stations will continue to use the multiplex 1 frequencies until 29 September 2024, assuming they obtain the necessary broadcasting permits.

A list of frequencies and the timetable of changes is available (in Polish) here.
