After a 40 year absence, the American beer brand, Budweiser, will re-enter the Israeli market. The American brand owner, ABInBev, expects to become a major competitor within the Israeli market which currently consumes 130 million liters of beer per year. The average Israeli consumes 15 liters of beer annually.

ABInBev and all other beer companies, should be aware that Israeli law relating to the promotion, sale and advertising of alcoholic beverages is quite stringent and detailed. Alcoholic beverages must contain a warning. Advertisements relating to alcoholic beverages may exclusively include the brand name/trademark, the manufacturers name, county of origin, percentage of alcohol, price, awards and vintage.

With strict rules in Israel, now is the time for beer manufacturers and brand owners to take the appropriate measures to ensure compliance with the rules.
