A new website has been launched to boost franchising activities in Singapore. Named Franchise Search (www.franchisesearch.yellowpages.htm), it is the collaborative brainchild of the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB), SingTel Yellow Pages and Singapore International Franchise Association (SIFA).

The launch was announced by the Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Industry at the third ministerial visit to local enterprises organised by the PSB. This time around, visits were made to PrimaDeli and Informatics, successful homegrown franchises whose business capabilities and competitiveness have been improved through franchising.

The website is useful not only for potential franchisees by presenting franchising opportunities and bringing together information required to make informed decisions, it also benefits franchisors both local and overseas. A key feature of the website is a search engine that allows potential franchisees to seek franchise opportunities. Links to other franchise-related sites have also been made available.

Other highlights of the site include listings of franchise consultants, lawyers and financial institutions equipped to provide advice in relation to franchise development. There is also a feedback mechanism for overseas franchisors who are seeking to establish a master franchisee representation in Singapore.
