As informed previously, the raise on workers' Invalidity, Old age and Death System contribution will be of 1%, going from 2,84% to 3,84% of affiliated employees' monthly salary; independent workers or contractors and employers will not be affected by this decision. Said increase will be implemented gradually, with a 0,5% raise on July 1st, 2017 and a second 0,5% increment on January 1st, 2018. Both raises round off the 1% increase initially approved. Once both increases go into effect, the total workers' contribution to CCSS' social security system will go from 9,34% to 10,34%.
