On April 7, 2016, the UK Payment Systems Regulator announced
that after consideration, it had decided that it would not be
imposing any new access or governance requirements on card payment
schemes. The PSR introduced governance requirements for interbank
payment systems in 2015. The PSR has considered the information it
has gathered as well as the improvements made in the area through
EU legislation, in particular, the Payment Services Regulations
2009. The PSR will continue to assess whether any changes are
necessary.
The PSR announcement is available at: https://www.psr.org.uk/psr-publications/news-announcements/statement-on-indirect-access-and-governance-requirements.
