As it has done during its 25 years of existence, Albagli Zaliasnik is determined to actively support the training of the future lawyers of our country. This commitment has motivated it to sponsor the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Chile, a major tournament in which participants argue a hypothetical case in English before a court that simulates the International Court of Justice. The winning team travels to Washington D.C. to compete with students from over 550 universities around the world.

In our country, the competition has been organized by the American Chilean Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) for 10 years and on Thursday January 14th the Jessup Anniversary Gala took place in the country, which was attended by the current Chilean Agent before the International Court of Justice, José Miguel Insulza, who gave his views on International Law. The event was attended by AZ partners, Ariela Agosin and Alvaro Rosenblut, who reaffirmed the firm´s commitment with such initiatives.

"In our 25 years as a firm, we feel stronger than ever, the obligation to support AmCham and academic activities such as Jessup, which ultimately takes the actual practice of the profession closer to the students, teaches them to prepare a case, to form a theory of the case, defend and confront a court. We are committed to the academic training of new lawyers in Chile and this is an excellent opportunity", said Ariela Agosin.

During the Gala, the law students of the five Chilean universities participating in the competition were presented: Catholic University, University of Chile, University of Valparaiso, Catholic University of Valparaiso, and Adolfo Ibañez University, which will compete in different rounds of discussion between January 22nd and 28th. The winning team will travel to Washington D.C. in April.
