Kate Clouston, Director of International Business Development at Guernsey Finance, has been named in the Citywealth 2015 IFC Power Women Top 200.

Now in its third year, the list highlights 200 of the most powerful women in government, private wealth, private client advisory, education and philanthropy across international financial centres. In total, 31 women from Guernsey are recognised*.

Miss Clouston, who joined Guernsey Finance in April 2015, is responsible for leading international business development work in key markets in South East Asia, North America and Europe and evaluating and developing new geographical markets. She is also involved in identifying and implementing development strategies around emerging financial products and attracting new companies to Guernsey.

She said: "I am pleased to be included on the list alongside so many other women from Guernsey's financial services sector as it demonstrates the breadth and depth of expertise available locally.

"The past year has been a particularly busy one for Guernsey Finance with a number of exciting developments internationally including successful delegations to China, Singapore and Malaysia, North America and Scandinavia. 2016 promises to be even more exciting, beginning with the opening of our office in Hong Kong as announced in December."

Trade publication Citywealth compiles the list from a number of sources including its own research and recommendations from leading figures in the financial services industry. Those included on the list are described by Citywealth as powerful women from diverse backgrounds who are trailblazers in their field, helping to promote business excellence in their home jurisdiction and consolidating the reputation of the financial services industry globally.

Guernsey Finance Chief Executive Dominic Wheatley said: "This is well-deserved recognition for the excellent work Kate is doing in key investment markets. Her leadership capabilities and energy are making a significant difference to our development of those markets and are helping to provide a strong platform for the sales activity of Guernsey companies."

Karen Jones, Founder and CEO of Citywealth, said: "Congratulations to the women who made the list this year. By highlighting their achievements we aim to remove barriers for their continued achievement and pave the way for others to follow in their success."
