According to the latest figures released by Eurostat, Malta is among the EU member states that have registered the highest increase in industrial production over the past year. Malta's industrial production increased by 7.7% in July of this year when compared to July of last year, as could be read in a marketing statement.

The Maltese government also stated that the growth rates of local industrial production is comparable to Malta's economic growth rate when compared to the rest of the euro zone as industrial production across this region increased by 1.9%, meaning that the figures for Malta are four times higher, as was the case with economic growth rate.

As local industrial production is higher than the rate registered in 2014 and had been on the increase since the beginning of this year, the Maltese government stated that it will continue to undertake efforts in order to ensure that local enterprises continue being able to provide employment for the local population.
