Damien Hinds pledges to continue close work with the charity sector

The Exchequer Secretary outlines four areas that the Government would like to work with the sector to take forward, as follows:

  • work on giving intermediaries a greater role in how Gift Aid is administered
  • reviewing the rules on donor benefits
  • refine and improve the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme
  • finalising a new, simpler model Gift Aid Declaration and guidance

Changes in UK accounting prompt consultation on the Charities SORP

The Charity Commission for England and Wales and Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, who together are the Statements of Recommended Practice (SORPs)-making body, launch a consultation to hear charities' views on proposed changes to the SORP.
