A New York State case against manufacturers of opioid products has been scheduled for trial in March 2020. The plaintiffs in the case are the State of New York and several counties who are suing pharmaceutical companies to recoup costs associated with treatment of state residents affected by the opioid epidemic. The trial will proceed on the plaintiffs' claims of public nuisance, deceptive business practices, false advertising, controlled substance act, repeated and persistent illegality, unjust enrichment, and negligence.
