Mr. Cousins brings an extensive employment practice, with a focus on high-stakes litigation and counseling, adding breadth to the firm's Employment & Labor Group

PALO ALTO – (August 9, 2019) – Morrison & Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce that Oswald B. Cousins has joined the firm in the Palo Alto Office in the Employment & Labor Group.  Mr. Cousins has 25 years of litigation experience, including jury and bench trials in federal and state courts. He further strengthens the firm’s Employment & Labor Group following the addition of Andrew Turnbull in Northern Virginia, the promotion of Annabel Gillham to partner in London, and the hiring of multiple associates.

Mr. Cousins’ experience in complex litigation includes class action, representative, and multi-plaintiff matters. His practice covers a number of different employment and labor issues: discrimination, harassment, disability accommodation, wage and hour, whistleblower and retaliation, commission agreements, executive contracts, employee mobility, and trade secrets.  Mr. Cousins provides strategic counsel to senior in-house lawyers, directors, management, and human resources professionals at major and emerging companies in the technology, retail, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, banking, and financial services sectors. Mr. Cousins also has experience in California’s Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters.

“Ossie brings a robust, well-rounded practice to our employment and labor group. We are excited to have someone with his strong trial experience join our growing team,” said Janie F. Schulman, Co-chair of the Employment & Labor Group. “Ossie’s experience in the technology space and working for emerging companies also provides excellent synergy with our firm’s presence and client base in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.”

“Ossie is an experienced litigator with a broad range of knowledge in employment matters,” added Eric Tate, Co-chair of the Employment & Labor Group. “We are proud that he has joined our employment and labor practice, and I expect our clients to benefit greatly from his counsel.”

“I was attracted to Morrison & Foerster because of its full-service platform and great reputation in the Bay Area and beyond,” added Mr. Cousins. “I’m excited to work with this diverse and experienced group of attorneys. Morrison & Foerster is a firm that shares my values of providing outstanding client service, creating a strong team environment, and supporting local communities.”

Mr. Cousins joins Morrison & Foerster’s growing premier litigation team in the San Francisco Bay Area market. Recent additions to the litigation team in the Bay Area include white-collar litigators Jina Choi and Christine Wong, both former attorneys in the Northern District of California.
